Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, is one of the few places where life moves at its own leisurely pace. It is famous for its tehzeeb, the mouth watering Awadhi cuisine. In fact it was in Lucknow that the art of slow cooking was perfected.
While in Lucknow one must visit La Martiniere College. This college built by Claude Martin in 1894 is an architectural wonder. In fact, one feels as if it is a fort and not a college. Shown above is a snap of the college.
A stroll down Hazrat Gunj is a must. Gunjing, as it is more popularly called. This is the place where the past and future blend harmoniously. One can find a shop selling the latest in electronic gadgets just next to a chikan (a local style of stitching clothes) shop selling kurtas.
